Welcome!

I'm Dr. Barbara Parks PT, DPT, CERP

I'm a physical therapist specializing in treatment of horse and rider.

Over my years in the equine industry, I've noticed some common threads of misinformation and lack of understanding across disciplines...

I can only reach and help so many people with my in-person practice, so I've designed these online courses to help spread this education further and reach more people!

My courses are designed for dedicated horse owners looking to learn more as well as equine professionals looking to expand their knowledge into new areas.

Below, you'll see a list of all of my online courses. You can search by category, or keep scrolling to see the full list. The library is always growing, so make sure to click on that "view more courses" button!

I love that you are helping to bring this information to the forefront of the Equine industry. Racael Draaisma is definately a pioneer and her work will hopefully forever help more equines feel understood. I loved your use of videos to help bring this information into the real world. I had seen many of these signals but didn't fully understand their meaning. Some such as lip liking have also been misconstrued as a sign that the horse is already relaxed, from past resources, so learning that they actually serve as calming signals was fascinating.

Well done!

This was a good looking, informative, jump start to clicker training. All the best from clicker trainer since 1990...something :-)

Even if your horse doesn't have kissing spines, I highly recommend this class, just ask any of my horse people. I gained so much information from this class just in general rehab knowledge, how the body works, good biomechanics, good body function, how to look for compensatory patterns, etc. I took this class in order to prevent future problems as much as I did to work on rehab cases with my other rescue horses and it is relevant in different stages to all of them. I love this class so much and recommend it to EVERYONE!

I am relatively new to horses, and this course has been truly transformative for me. It gave me the confidence to train and care for my horse in the way I always hoped to. I now feel much more attuned to what she’s communicating through her behavior, posture, and movement. My bond with my horse was already strong, but after this course, it feels like we’ve reached a whole new level. She was always easy to catch in the pasture, but now when she sees me, she eagerly walks right to me. She seems to genuinely enjoy training, and I can tell her trust in me has deepened. She’s more relaxed when we work together, and the way she carries herself has improved dramatically. Plus, we’re having so much fun! I also love that I’ll retain access to the course videos. I’ve already started reviewing them, and I know I’ll return to them often to refresh my memory and gain clarity as I continue working with my horse. Barbara is not only an incredibly knowledgeable expert in this field but also a wonderfully supportive teacher and community builder. Whether you’re brand-new to horses or have been around them your whole life, you’ll gain valuable insights from this course—and you’ll also become part of a welcoming, like-minded community of horse lovers.

This is a wonderfully well rounded course that covers everything you need to know, or be aware of, as a horse owner. Dr. Parks is super informative and covers all sorts of topics including basic horse care, anatomy and biomechanics of the horse, clicker training, clicker training exercises, as well as weekly group coaching calls with Dr. Parks that are meant to help share ideas, questions, or any feedback you have. You will be seeing so many positive changes in your horse after just the first few weeks with the positive reinforcement exercises included in the court. This course is phenomenal and will change your view on horse training and care as it relates to positive reinforcement! Highly recommend for any horseman looking to add some new tools to their belt. I would recommend this for any level of horseman (beginner to advanced).
