The Neurobiomechanics of Equine Dentition
Discover how dental balance affects your horse’s posture, proprioception, and sensory feedback. This course bridges neurology and biomechanics to reveal the hidden power of the mouth in whole-body function.
This course explores the fascinating link between equine dental balance and the nervous system - revealing how the mouth influences posture, proprioception, sensory feedback, and whole-body performance.
This course builds on our original program, The Equine Dental Connection, which introduces common dental imbalances, shows how they manifest in the body, and demonstrates a series of case studies with before-and-after transformations in posture following dental balance. While taking the first course is not required, it provides a helpful foundation so you can dive even deeper into the science of neurology and biomechanics here.
Your instructors bring both decades of expertise and passion to the subject:
Suzzi Peeler, Equine Neuromuscular Dentist – A lifelong horsewoman, Suzzi has dedicated her career to studying how equine dentition affects mobility, performance, and health. She has presented at the ICCMO national conference and continues to lead the way in education on how teeth shape proprioception and overall wellness.
Dr. Barbara Parks, PT, DPT, CERP, CTRI, CEMT – An equine physical therapist with a doctorate in physical therapy and numerous additional certifications, Barbara specializes in rehabilitation for both horse and rider. With a background in equine bodywork, biomechanics, nutrition, and positive reinforcement training, she brings a whole-horse approach that bridges dentistry and movement.
In this course, you’ll learn:
The science behind neuromuscular dentistry and equine biomechanics
How dental alignment influences posture and proprioceptive feedback
The ripple effects of dentition on balance, performance, and overall health
Practical insights you can apply in caring for your own horse or in professional practice
Whether you’re a horse owner seeking deeper understanding or an equine professional wanting to expand your knowledge, this course offers a fresh perspective on the mouth–body connection.
