About This Course:

Rocking Therapy for Horses

A Gentle, Natural Approach to Comfort, Calm, and Connection
Learn how to soothe the body and mind through subtle, rhythmic movement.

If you’ve ever watched a horse gently sway when resting, or rock slightly in a moment of stress or stillness, you’ve seen the foundation of this therapy in action.

Rocking Therapy is a quiet, deeply intuitive form of equine bodywork that taps into the horse’s natural instincts for self-soothing, balance, and release. This course shows you how to work with these movements, not against them, to promote comfort, reduce tension, and support emotional and physical well-being.

Why Rocking Therapy?

Through years of hands-on experience, I’ve found that horses respond best to subtlety. Unlike heavy-handed approaches, Rocking Therapy is based on the belief that less is more. With precise, light touch and rhythmic motion, we can influence the horse’s nervous system, encourage soft tissue release, and help the horse return to a state of calm and ease.

Just like humans instinctively rock to self-soothe — think of a baby in a cradle or someone gently swaying under stress — horses use similar micro-movements to regulate themselves. This course helps you understand the power behind those motions — and how to gently support them.

What You’ll Learn:

  • The science and behavior behind natural rocking and swaying in horses

  • How to recognise when your horse is using movement to self-regulate or manage pain

  • How Rocking Therapy can assist with issues like stress, arthritis, discomfort, neurological challenges, or postural imbalance

  • Where and how to apply these techniques for maximum benefit

  • How to use rocking pre- or post-workout to support relaxation and circulation

What’s Included:

  • Step-by-step video demonstrations of rocking techniques

  • Bite-sized theory lessons to explain the ‘why’ behind each movement

  • A comprehensive course manual for easy reference

  • Techniques that are safe, subtle, and easy to learn — no special tools required

  • Lifetime access so you can revisit and refine your skills any time

Who This Course is For:

  • Horse owners who want to connect more deeply with their horses and support everyday comfort

  • Equine professionals seeking a gentle, effective tool to add to their therapeutic practice

  • Anyone who values calm, conscious, horse-led care

Why It Works

Rocking Therapy supports the horse’s nervous system, circulation, and muscular relaxation — without force, pressure, or resistance. It’s especially powerful for sensitive, anxious, or recovering horses who may not tolerate more intensive methods.

By working with your horse’s natural responses, you create a space for healing, softness, and trust.
